The following pilots have received an Aviation Scholarship from The Debbie Franceus Memorial Aviation Foundation! We are so proud of their efforts to pursue their dreams to fly!
Debbie Franceus believed that all women who wished to fly, should have the resources to do so!
The Debbie Franceus Memorial Aviation Foundation is committed to continuing Debbie's work to help women pursue their dreams in aviation!
Based upon the Foundation's review of their scholarship application, they will be awarded $1,000 or more toward their flight training! Again, congratulations!
2025 Scholarship Recipients .
Alex Barringer : I am a dedicated and passionate aspiring professional pilot, currently completing my flight training with an expected graduation date as a Commercial Pilot in both single and multi-engine aircraft, and CFI/II in September.
Bethany Fayard : Bethany Fayard is transitioning from managing her family's shrimp business to pursuing her lifelong dream of becoming a professional pilot.
Cami Oblinger : With a strong interest in both business and aviation, Cami is passionate about blending her HR experience with her long-term goal of becoming a professional pilot.
Ellen Massey : She finds fulfillment in serving others through aviation, especially when she was able to use her skills to bring vital supplies to the survivors of the devastating Maui wildfires.
Jun Oikawa : Jun was born and raised in Japan, where female pilots are still extremely rare. Her passion for becoming a pilot started as early as 3rd grade, but her dream could not be pursued because she did not meet the height requirement for flight schools in Japan.
Kira Moffet : I am flying for my Mom who passed away when I was just eleven years old. She was a private pilot and passionate about women in aviation, and a proud member of the 99s.
Leah Murphy : Leah Murphy is a helicopter air ambulance pilot and serves as a volunteer FAA Safety Team Representative in Toledo, OH
Lillian Mutch : I am currently pursuing an instrument rating and have used the funds from the Debbie Franceus Aviation Memorial Scholarship to fund the airplane rental and instruction cost.
Mary McEnroe : Mary McEnroe dreamed of learning to fly as a young girl. She loves sharing aviation with others and is actively involved in the Santa Clara Valley Chapter of the Ninety-Nines.
Rachel Huff-Wagenborg : Thank you to the The Debbie Franceus Memorial Aviation Foundation Committee for believing in my potential and helping to propel me toward my goals.
Reni Emmerich : I am a sophomore at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University studying Aerospace Engineering while serving in Navy ROTC. Flying quickly became one of my greatest passions, and even as a passenger I've always been inspired by aviation.
Riley Gregoire : My short-term goal is to earn my CFI and use it as an opportunity to educate, mentor, and inspire the next generation of pilots. Ultimately, my long-term goal is to fly for the airlines.
Shannon St. Germain : I am incredibly thankful for this scholarship, which is allowing me to wrap up the final stage of my private pilot license and keep my training moving forward.
Anupama (Sigma) Kar : It is like surfing. Sometimes, you struggle solely to stay afloat, sometimes, the waves knock you off the surfboard, but you must get back up. Victoria Davenport : “A wise man once told me, “Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're right.”
Emmalee Hardin :
I was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at my
college. I am honored to be accepted and recognized for my outstanding
academic achievements. I truly love flying and am heartbroken over missing the
past few months of training. I plan to return to my flight training as soon as posible!
Reagan Hunink : It is Reagan's goal to complete her powered solo on her 16th birthday and continue on to receive her Private Pilot Certificate. Ultimately, her goal is to fly for NOAA with the Hurricane Hunters and serve in missionary aviation as a volunteer pilot in domestic human trafficking rescues.
Cherry Kan : Cherry believes there is no good or bad timing to make a dream happen; you just need
to keep making steps forward; even a small step will bring you closer to your ultimate
dream.
Linda Montilla-Celis :
Given Linda's vocation for teaching and her interest in educational innovation, she would like to work and collaborate in the design of academic programs in Latin America related to aviation and space engineering that can help other aspiring aviators to also fly for their dreams.
Kelli O'Donnell : “I'm a firm believer in any step forward, even a baby step, is still a step closer to achieving the goal. I know I will get there and am grateful to The Debbie Franceus Memorial Aviation Foundation for helping me achieve my ambitions.”
Arian Perez : “We do not rise to the level of our expectations; we fall to the level of our training.”
Megan Schittenhelm : "I will be flying for a company,
transporting organs to save lives in my everyday motivation to not give up when training becomes
difficult or experience setbacks."
Lacey Stensberg : "I always knew I liked aviation, but it has been amazing to discover my confidence to explore being a pilot and just how large my passion is for being in the air."
Gabriela Tan : From telling herself, "One day," she took the leap, made it "Day One,” and hasn't looked back since.
Erin Walling : “In life you are either a passenger or the pilot. It is your choice!”
