Anupama Kar

Anupama Kar is currently training for her Private Pilot License at Crosswinds Aviation. She wants to serve as a pilot officer to help with human explorations in space. On the side, she is a mechanical engineer and works for the University of Michigan.

Anupama's passion for flying and aviation started with a simple remote control airplane that her father had brought when she was probably three years old. Pilot career brings with it a huge set of commitments and challenges. It requires discipline and persistence. Everyone's pilot journey is unique to them. In all this, Anupama's only message is, “if this is what you want to do, never ever self-doubt. No matter how bad the situation is right now, it is just a phase and will pass. Be patient with yourself. Do not ever give up. Whether you like it or not, get up and show up; for one year, for two years, for three years. After that, your hands will automatically fly that plane! Remember, a plane always takes off the best with direct headwind. Don't let adversities stop you. Be stubborn enough to figure out your way even if the odds are against you!”
