Arian Perez

Arian Perez is a wife and mom of two elementary-aged kids, currently working towards her instrument rating at Slipstream Aviation in Midland, Michigan. Her ultimate goal in aviation is to share her passion for flying with others as a career flight instructor.

She currently works as a server at a fine dining restaurant where she's been employed for the last 13 years. She shares her interest in aviation with her grandfather, who does not hold a pilot certificate, but was an engine mechanic on the KC-97 Stratotanker in the US Air Force. She is an absolute grandpa's girl and nothing makes Arian happier than when he pulls a chair up next to her at a family gathering because she knows they'll be swapping stories.

She adopted the following quote by Greek poet Archilochus as her teaching philosophy: “We do not rise to the level of our expectations; we fall to the level of our training.” We've all heard of CFIs who have no interest in teaching and know the negative impact that can have on students' experience, but she has learned from her own flight instructor the effect genuine care can have on not only training, but on life, and she truly wants to pour her heart into her students and be part of creating the greatest and safest generation of aviators yet.
