Leah Murphy

Leah Murphy is a helicopter air ambulance pilot and serves as a volunteer FAA Safety Team Representative in Toledo, OH. Leah is now pursuing her Multi-Engine Instructor rating at Bowling Green State University to expand her capabilities as a dual-rated pilot and educator. She is also a writer for the bimonthly FAA Safety Briefing publication, where she provides content for the Vertically Speaking column. Leah has been actively involved in aviation outreach for nearly a decade, volunteering with Girls in Aviation Day events, aviation summer camps, and collegiate safety seminars.

Passionate about empowering others to grow as aviators, she shares her knowledge through both formal instruction and community involvement. Outside of aviation, Leah enjoys giving back to her local community through volunteer work such as supporting youth sailing programs and making handmade items for donation. With this next step, Leah looks forward to training the next generation of pilots, contributing to a stronger aviation community, and continuing to embody her commitment to lifelong learning and service.
